AP Statistics Course Description
Statistics is the science of collecting and analyzing data.
It is the study of how we use numbers in real life to make important decisions - in the world of politics, business, medicine, education, etc. Notice that this definition of statistics uses the word “science” rather than the word “math.” While basic math skills are essential in this class, they are often secondary to being able to clearly communicate your methods and reasoning.
It will be hard work sometimes! But here’s what you’ll get out of it: a high school math credit, possible college credit, a better understanding of the world around you, and hopefully a little bit of fun along the way.
